At the HKU LAE x SCC Joint Symposium, Dr. Amanda Lim—Hong Kong Chief Representative & CFO of Digauto, and Coordinating Lead for the SCC PAIS-Lab 5-Year Plan Proposal—took the stage as the Panel Facilitator & Moderator for an extraordinary cross-disciplinary assembly of scholars, legal authorities, and engineering pioneers.

Dr. Lim orchestrated a high-impact dialogue addressing the critical structural bottlenecks in autonomous driving (ADS) and the low-altitude economy (LAE):

  • HIL Mileage Conversion Framework: Championing regulatory adaptation under Cap. 374AA and civil aviation rules, allowing high-fidelity indoor Hardware-in-the-Loop simulation and SOTIF Index benchmarking to serve as certified technical compliance data, saving enterprises catastrophic physical crash costs.

  • The GBA Schema & LHD/RHD Discrepancies: Driving the execution of a standardized Great Bay Area spatial data schema that resolves severe perception dead zones and decision conflicts when autonomous systems transition between Guangdong (Left-Hand Drive) and HK/Macau (Right-Hand Drive).

  • Common Law & DSSAD Arbitration: Outlining how auditable Data Storage Systems for Automated Driving (DSSAD) and high-fidelity incident reconstruction position Hong Kong as the prime international legal arbitration and IP dispute center for physical AI accidents.

Special thanks to our distinguished panel speakers:

• Dr. Alex Zhicheng Huang (HKU Faculty of Law)

• Ms. Li Xiaoying (CEO, Digauto)

• Prof. Kim-Fung Tsang (Technology R&D Advisor, SCC; IEEE Fellow)

• Prof. Liping Xu (HKU Department of Mechanical Engineering)

• Prof. Xintao Yan (HKU Department of Civil Engineering)

• Mr. Fan Hailong (General Manager, Automotive Electronics & Information Testing, CMVR)

• Prof. Xiaoyang Li (BUAA School of Reliability and Systems Engineering)

• Prof. Chenshu Wu (HKU School of Computing and Data Science)
