Wuzhen by the Water, Safe Mobility Together

White walls and black-tiled houses line the waterways; innovation surges forward in Wuzhen. As the annual World Internet Conference convenes, this Jiangnan water town has transcended its reputation as merely a short-term exhibition destination. Computing power, industries and real-world scenarios have taken root and flourished here, nurturing a fertile ground for cutting-edge autonomous driving visions to come to life.

During the 2026 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit, the Forum on AI-enabled In-Service Safety Technology Innovation for Autonomous Driving opened at the Wuzhen World Internet Science and Technology Museum.

This forum targets the full-lifecycle operational safety assurance for L2 combined driving assistance, L3 and L4 automated driving systems. It brings together regulatory authorities, universities, OEMs, tech companies and testing & certification bodies for in-depth exchanges focusing on two major themes: the evolution of embodied intelligence and the in-service safety verification framework.

Ranging from cutting-edge research on world models and embodied intelligence, to the reconstruction of safety boundaries from ODD to ODC, SOTIF risk management and the implementation of the Safety Case framework, the forum signals a clear industry shift: safety for automated driving is no longer limited to one-off verification during R&D and factory release. Instead, it calls for continuous, dynamic and long-term in-service safety protection after vehicles are deployed on public roads.

Director Ma Ruixue from CMVR delivered a presentation entitled Technological Breakthroughs and Practices Based on the Safety Case Methodology at the forum. She elaborated on the development concept of the Trinity Intelligent Driving Laboratory and its comprehensive safety verification system.

The laboratory was constructed and delivered by Digauto. Built around three pillars: scenario safety, human-factor safety and intrinsic safety, it delivers a full set of verification capabilities. It serves as our benchmark practice for supporting testing institutions and building integrated intelligent driving verification laboratories.

Part 2 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit | Ecosystem Release: Witnessing Industrial Capabilities Put into Practice at the Summit

At the opening ceremony of this year’s World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit, Premier Li Qiang pointed out in his keynote speech that the internet and artificial intelligence are accelerating into a new phase of intelligent connectivity. In this course of development, we must stay people-centered, uphold trustworthiness and controllability, better balance development and security, ensure technologies always remain trustworthy tools for humanity, and enable digital-intelligent technologies to empower industries and advance human wellbeing. This guiding vision also sets the core principle for the development of the secure industry for intelligent connected vehicles.

At the concurrent launch event of the International Internet Town held alongside the summit, He Shanhu, a leader of Tongxiang Municipal Government, introduced that Tongxiang is building a full industrial chain with intelligent connected vehicles as the priority. Led academically by Academician Li Jun’s team, the region has established a closed-loop “three-in-one” verification system covering simulation testing, closed-site trials and public-road validation. It has attracted a cluster of industrial players including Digauto and Yipu Digital Intelligence. Through platforms such as innovation consortia, Tongxiang integrates resources from industry, universities, research institutes and testing bodies to foster an industrial ecosystem evolving from individual enterprises to an industrial cluster.

At the event, Yipu Digital Intelligence and Tongxiang Construction Investment Group formally signed the project of Tongxiang Public Service Platform for Intelligent Connected Vehicles and Digital-Intelligent Transportation. Drawing on the leading SOTIF technical system developed by Academician Li Jun’s team, the project will build city-level infrastructure for the in-service safety supervision of automated driving. Covering core capabilities including in-service monitoring, data closed-loop management and scenario validation, it will continuously drive the agglomeration of industrial chain resources and consolidate the industrial foundation of “AI Wuzhen, Innovative Tongxiang”.

Part 3 Wuzhen Highlights | 2026 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit

Wuzhen’s unique charm lies precisely in this blend: the gentle grace of a water town paired with cutting-edge hard tech. The Wuzhen Light Supercomputing Center delivers abundant, steady computing power. A dense array of enterprises specializing in intelligent driving and life sciences has linked up the industrial chain. Moreover, readily accessible, well-equipped test scenarios enable ideas to be validated locally without traveling far, and data to form closed loops without cross-city transmission.

Yipu Digital Intelligence, our close strategic partner, focuses on in-service safety of automated driving and scenario generation closed loops. Computing resources, industrial clusters and test scenarios work in efficient synergy within a short radius, accelerating the transition of technologies from the lab to mass production.

Not far from Yipu Digital Intelligence sits the Wuzhen ICV Safety Performance Test Site operated by Digauto, a key testbed within this ecosystem. As one of the rare pilot platforms for vehicle-road-cloud integration in the Yangtze River Delta, the site supports scenario reconstruction, real-vehicle evaluation, risk data collection and other tasks. In close collaboration with Yipu Digital Intelligence, we leverage our respective proven verification expertise to build an end-to-end pipeline covering in-service risk mining, scenario generation, bench simulation and real-vehicle validation. This translates the forward-looking theories discussed at the forum into deployable and reusable verification capabilities.

Over the past decade and more, intellectual exchanges sparked by the summit have gradually translated into production capacity on the factory floor, iterative upgrades in laboratories, and greater safety confidence on open roads. Rooted in Wuzhen’s fertile industrial ground, Digauto firmly believes that the commercialization of high-level automated driving hinges on a verification foundation where virtual-real integration, environmental simulation / closed test tracks, and real public roads complement one another. We are more than a site operator and laboratory builder; we are a long-term co-builder of Wuzhen’s intelligent connected vehicle ecosystem, working alongside many partners to complete the capability puzzle of automated driving safety verification.

The summit is still underway. Above the water town, intellectual insights keep emerging. Rooted in Wuzhen, the Digauto team looks forward to joining hands with more like-minded partners. With robust verification capabilities underpinning safety, we march together toward a future of trustworthy and controllable intelligent mobility.
